Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack 2009 R2 and DaRT

The Microsoft Desktop Optimazation Pack (MDOP) 2009 R2 contains a nifty tool that Microsoft acquired when they bought Sysinternals. The infamous ERD Commander =)

The name went through Microsoft's, also infamous, marketing machine and was renamed to Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset. DaRT for short.

Although there doesn't seem to be alot of development to the toolset, it's still a sysadmin's Swiss Army Knife and should be in every admin's first aid kid, IMHO.

DotA Allstars Godlike, w00t

My new addiction is playing the Warcraft3 map DotA Allstars with my brother in law. He's pretty good and I only once managed to level faster then he did. So I train solo to improve my skills. And yesterday I applied a new tactic. It resulted in a 9 level advantage for me and I made my first Monsterkill and reached Godlike and Wicked Sick status. I also managed to get all the brutal items that makes a hero almost invincible. w000t!

Windows 7 RTM Release To Manufactoring Code

I'm writing this from Windows 7 RTM. Well, so it seems. Microsoft denies the code has gone RTM.

The BuildLabEx key has the value 7600.16384.amd64fre.win7_rtm.090710-1945, and it was said the RTM code would be generated on July 10th, so I don't understand the denial.

So a normal comparison with results below is not possible anymore. Too bad. We can see the clear advantage Chromium has on DOM queries (except jQuery). Firefox wins the more mathematical calculations though.

I must say the new Firefox is alot quicker compared to Firefox 3.0.x, when network tweaks (Google for it) are enabled in both.

The real speeddemon however is the beta version of Opera. If you want to surf the web at the greatest speed possible, Opera 10 should be your choice (as for now).
